Answers…

  1. How can I contact you?

Our phone number for questions and orders is 234-PET FOOD. Or you may contact us at support@premiumcrickets.com

  2. Does Georgia Crickets Guarantee their shipments?

We guarantee that you will receive your shipment how you ordered it.  Some products have their own and different guarantee and is noted on the item description. Please see our full shipping policy to ensure you are getting the live arrival guarantee.

In order to minimize the mortality possibility of your shipment, please have someone home to receive the package. If no one will be home, then please have your package shipped to your place of work or to a friends house.

In the event your order does arrive dead, we may choose to add the amount lost to your next order or ship out a replacement order for $4.95.

  3. My order arrived dead, what do I do?

Please accept the box and do not refuse.  Call us at 234-PET FOOD to discuss.  If you refuse the box, FedEx will charge us to reship back to us and your Guarantee will be void.

In the winter time, if the crickets get too cold they go into a dormant state.

Before calling us, bring your crickets inside and place by a heater for at least 2 hours. There is a good chance they will come back to life. This is a survival mechanism that is part of the cricket biology.

If after 2 hours the crickets are still dead, please call us to make arrangements for us to either ship new crickets or add free crickets to your next order.

In the summer, you will know if the crickets are dead via suffocation.

Fortunately, the incidence of dead arrival is extremely low when we follow our guidelines. When the package is in transit, we depend on the carrier to take care to make a quality delivery.

  4. What temperatures do you guarantee orders?

Over the many years of shipping live insects, we know that when the temperatures are 25 degrees or lower, the chances of crickets surviving shipping diminishes.

Our weather protection option guarantees you will receive live insects when the temperatures are lower than 50 at night, but above 40 at night for a 2 day shipping option.

If your temperature is below 40 degrees at night and above 30 degrees at night, select "Priority Overnight Shipping" and weather protection to get the guarantee.

If you are in dire need for food for your reptile and the temperatures are cold, try wax worms, mealworms, and/or black soldier fly larvae.  All of these products tend to ship well in cold temperatures.

We guarantee overnight orders if your temperatures are under 85 degrees.  If your temperatures are below 80 degrees, we guarantee overnight and home/ground delivery shipments.

  5. What days do you ship orders?

We ship orders Monday thru Thursday.

The only orders that we ship on Thursday are those that will arrive to our customers by Friday or Saturday to a residential address. If your order has to be shipped FedEx 2 day Air your order will not go out until the following Monday.

  6. What is the cut off time for same day shipping?

The cut off time for same day shipping is 2:00p.m. eastern standard time Monday through Thursday. Orders placed after 2:00p.m. easter standard time will be shipped the following shipping day.

For example, an order placed on Monday at 1:00p.m. eastern standard time will ship on Monday. An order placed on Monday at 3:00p.m. eastern standard time will ship on Tuesday.

An order placed on Thursday at 3:00p.m. eastern standard time will ship on Monday of the following week.

  7. I placed my order on Thursday before 2:00 - why didn't it ship?

You probably picked a FedEx 2nd Day Air shipping option.

If we shipped a 2nd Day Air order out on Thursday, you would receive it that following Monday and the chances are your shipment would be dead. If our package sits in a warehouse over the weekend, they tend to either freeze or suffocate.

Our goal is to deliver a live product to you and therefore we have to take extra precautions.

  8. Does FedEx deliver on Saturday?

While it is true that FedEx does deliver on Saturday, they charge $14.95 extra (on top of the normal shipping fees).

If you would like this option please be sure to contact us immediately to place your order over the phone. In for FedEx to deliver on a Saturday your order must be placed by the 2:00p.m. eastern standard time deadline. FedEx also must have the option for Saturday delivery in your area.

  9. Do you offer refunds once an order is placed?

Once you place an order we do not offer refunds to that order.

Before placing your order, please check the weather conditions in your area to ensure you are sending them to receive the guarantee.

We can place your order on hold in until you are ready to have it shipped. However we do not refund and order that has already been placed.

  10. What size crickets should I buy?

This is our number one question. As a general rule of thumb, measure the distance from eyeball to eyeball of your pet. Purchase crickets that are equal to or less than the distance between your pet’s eyes.

Bearded Dragon owners - Breeders tell us if you feed your Beardie a cricket that is too large, it can do potential harm to your pet.  The Beardie will open their mouth too much and possibly cause damage to their central nervous system. In all actuality a cricket that is too large causes impaction, and that leads to the death of the animal. impaction causes pressure on the spine thus causing partial paralysis.

"Remember that when feeding insects that have a hard outer shell (crickets, roaches, etc.) they should never be larger than the space between your pets eyes. This is to prevent impaction from occurring and putting them at serious risk. When a herp eats a prey item that is too large and it gets stuck in the intestines it sometimes puts pressure on the spinal chord causing partial paralysis"

You can extend the life of your crickets by purchasing our Kricket Complete food care product. The food and dusting kit and designed to eliminate the bacteria that grows in your cricket cage when you use conventional methods of feeding (sponges, lettuce, oranges, etc.)

It is the bacteria that causes the crickets to stink and prematurely die.

  11. Do you offer reoccurring orders?

Yes, Georgia Crickets offers reoccuring orders. You will need to place your first order online. Send us an e-mail on how freqently you would like this order and what your payment method is going to be. All reoccurring orders are placed/charged on a Monday. You can select what day you would like it to be shipped out and delivered to you.

  12. If my order is late do I get a shipping refund?

We do not offer back the shipping cost if the order is late.

If you have chosen the shipping option base on the weather and it is guarantee in our "Live arrival" policy, we can reship the order for $4.95 in the event there is DOA or lost/damaged package.

Please refer to our DOA procedures.
